Tower Market marks sixth location in the Coachella Valley

CATHEDRAL CITY — Tower Market has transformed the northwest corner property of Date Palm Drive and Ortega Road, which for years has been a blight on the community with boarded up buildings, weeds, trash, and dead vegetation, into an attractive and highly visible local neighborhood market.

The 5,238 square foot market is across the street from U.S. Post Office offers a hybrid of products typical in a convenience store as well as items in a fresh market.  It is the sixth Tower Market in the Coachella Valley. Others are located in Palm Desert, Coachella, La Quinta, Indio, Rancho Mirage and Thermal.

In December 2020, the Palm Springs City Council voted 4-1 to approve a Tower Market to be located on an undeveloped 2.59-acre parcel at the corner of North Indian Canyon Drive and West San Rafael Road. Councilmember Grace Garner dissented.

They sell myriad grocery items, fresh vegetables, and quick food for takeout like sandwiches, fried chicken and pizzas. They also sell everything you can find at a traditional convenience store including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Additionally, the new market has 24 customer parking spaces, 12 gas pumps, and EV charging for your convenience.

Tower Market stores are designed to be affordable and a convenient place to find all your grocery and household needs. The stores are promoted as “competitively priced.”
