V. Manuel Perez Lays Groundwork for Supervisor Seat in 2026

La Quinta — While many residents are focused on the Nov. 5 election and the shiny objects in front of them, Riverside County Fourth District Supervisor V. Manuel Perez, who ran unopposed in 2022, has opened a V. Manuel Perez for Supervisor 2026 committee, according to Campaign Disclosure Documents. He’s marked his territory.

The early filing could be a warning shot to others who are salivating to take on the supervisor.

His beginning cash balance was $208,471.52 and his ending cash balance was $159,737.65, according to his campaign statements from Jan. 1 to June 30. In that same time period, he raised $46,000.

Two of his biggest contributors are Riverside Sheriffs Association Education Fund and LIUNA (The Laborers’ International Union of North America) Local 777 PAC, which each donated $10,000. Michael Scott, an entrepreneur from Anaheim, donated $20,000.

For his 2026 campaign, Perez has turned to Troast & Associates in Riverside for compliance and fundraising. Overland Strategies, which is the same firm Joey Acuã is using this cycle in his bid for an Assembly seat, will serve as Perez’s lead consultant performing general consulting and mail/digital campaign responsibilities.

Some of his expenditures are as interesting as his contributions. For example, he spent:

  • $9,562.81 at Studio Five Design & Apparel in Thermal
  • $10,000 for a fundraiser at the Los Angeles Dodgers
  • $679.54 to The Westin Pasadena, lodging
  • $1,270.09 to Caymus Vineyards in Rutherford for a fundraiser
  • $1,030.64 to Macy’s of New York for campaign paraphernalia
  • $1,343.06 to Crew in New York for campaign paraphernalia
  • $6,000 to San Diego Marriott in San Diego, lodging for staff retreat
