Notice of Measure KK Oversight Committee Vacancies

The Board of Education of the Desert Sands Unified School District is seeking five qualified, interested individuals to serve on a committee of community leaders, to serve as the Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee for the implementation of the District’s Measure KK school facilities bond program.

The applicants must be able to represent one of the following constituents: taxpayer organization member (1), parent or guardian of child enrolled in district (1), parent or guardian of child enrolled in district AND active in PTO/PTA (1), and at-large community member (2).

On November 5, 2014, voters residing within the Desert Sands Unified School District approved Measure KK, a bond measure that will generate $225 million to renovate/update schools, improving safety/security, enhancing energy-efficiency, equipping classrooms for 21st century teaching and learning, and strengthening pathways for student success in college and career.

“The Citizens Bond Oversight Committee is responsible for seeing that bond funds are used in accordance with their intended purpose. Interested individuals wishing to serve on the committee must complete the application found on the district web site www.dsusd.us and submit the application to the Desert Sands Unified School District Superintendent Office, 47-950 Dune Palms Road, La Quinta, CA 92253, by 4:30 p.m. on January 31, 2022.
