Two men injured with deadly weapon

CATHEDRAL CITY — Two male victims were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center on Thursday night with gun shot wounds, the result of an assault with a deadly weapon, Commander Rick Sanchez stated in a news release.

The victims’ names have not been released.

The incident happened late Thursday when police officers were dispatched to a call regarding “gun shots heard” in the area of C Street and West Buddy Rogers Avenue in South Cathedral City.

Officers responded and began an area check. Officers located the two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

The Cathedral City Fire Department was contacted and transported both victims to Desert Regional Medical Center. Officers located the crime scene and began to canvass the area. Cathedral City Detectives were contacted and began their investigation.
