PALM DESERT — In one of the summer’s must-see entertainment events, 10 top competitors will participate in the Sixth Annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley “Clubs’ Got Talent” youth talent show.

“The America’s Got Talent  television show has talent, but so do many of the local youth at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley,” Quinton Egson, president and chief executive officer Quinton Egson, said in a prepared statement.  “If you love to perform by singing, dancing, playing a musical instrument or showing off another amazing talent, we encourage you to join one of our four clubs and join in on this annual fun event.  Besides, you never know who in the audience might be scouting for fresh talent.”

The annual Clubs’ Got Talent competition is open to club members, as well as any talented youth.  The first round of the competition took place in mid-July at the Indio, La Quinta, Coachella and Mecca clubs. The winners from round one at each club then proceeded to the second round semi-finals held on July 31 at the La Quinta club.

The top 10 semi-finalists will compete at the finals. Winners placing first through 10th place win cash prizes ranging from $500 to $50. The finals are free and open-to-the-public to attend.

Top talent will take center stage for the Clubs’ Got Talent event on Thursday, Aug. 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. All the entertainment will take place at Indian Wells Theater on the California State University San Bernardino — Palm Desert Campus, 37500 Cook Street in Palm Desert.
