20 People to Commemorate D-Day by Flying Vintage C-47 Airplane, Iconic Plane Associated with D-Day
PALM SPRINGS —Ten seats remain for adventurous souls who want to ride in a vintage C-47 Airplane on June 6, which is the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landing on the Normandy beaches in France.
The C-47 is the iconic airplane associated with the landing on D-Day. The Palm Springs Air Museum is offering two Commemorative flights on Thursday, June 6th. The 9:30 a.m. flight will probably be fully booked by the time you read this, but the 8 a.m. flight may have one or two seats left.
Each seat costs $195 and includes a commemorative certificate and T-Shirt. These flights are in memory of the thousands of men who landed on Normandy by C-47. Many lost their lives retaking Omaha Beach from the Germans. Note: each passenger must be at least 13 years of age.
