DESERT HOT SPRINGS — An oasis of opportunity for 60 years, the city of Desert Hot Springs welcomes the community to celebrate its successes with the biggest party the city has ever seen on its actual Diamond Anniversary.

• Indulge in a delectable spread of mouth-watering food and beverages, including a beer garden
• Fly a kite and get your face painted
• Browse and shop from an eclectic mix of vendors, plus artisan wares

Incorporated on Sept. 17, 1963, the city of Desert Hot Springs is one of the Coachella Valley’s four original cities, and the only city that can claim elevated views of the desert and a perch atop two aquifers—one hot, and one cold. Early settlers discovered a true oasis when they harnessed the naturally occurring hot mineral waters and built a thriving health and wellness community around these pure, life-giving resources. Today visitors are pulled to the “Spa City” for its pristine drinking water, proximity to sand and snow, and everything in between.

“This celebration is a tribute to our history and the strong bonds we’ve built within our community,” said Mayor Scott Matas. “We would be honored to have you and your family celebrate with us on this momentous occasion!”

Please note that due to the large scale of the event, parking space is limited at the venue itself. These alternative options will ensure a stress-free and enjoyable experience.

• Hop on a free shuttle from Desert Hot Springs High School (65850 Pierson
  Blvd.). Enjoy a comfy ride and avoid parking problems. The shuttle runs from
  2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Park and walk from the Desert Hot Springs Library (14380 Palm Drive.) or the
  Riverside County Behavioral Health (14320 Palm Drive)
• Share the ride, share the fun! Coordinate with friends, family, or colleagues to
  carpool

ABOUT THE MUSIC: Over the course of Ozomatli’s 25-year career, the group has sold hundreds of thousands of albums, served as official US cultural ambassadors, and played their notorious urban Latino-and-beyond collision of hip hop and salsa, dance hall and cumbia, samba and funk, merengue and comparsa to audiences around the world.

Recently featured at the Joshua Tree Music Festival, local favorites Giselle Woo and Janine Rivera make up Las Tías. Their musical story will make for an unforgettable evening steeped in Mexican American heritage, and deeply rooted in the Coachella Valley.
