RANCHO MIRAGE — For the fifth consecutive year, Eisenhower Health has achieved straight ‘A’s’ in The Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2018 Hospital Safety Grade, according to a news release.
With the Hospital Safety Grades, Leapfrog assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to hospitals across the country based on how safe they are for patients, and Eisenhower is the only hospital in the Coachella Valley to earn an ‘A’ grade.
“Achieving an ‘A’ grade from The Leapfrog Group is huge accomplishment,” Christine Johnstone, vice president of Quality and Performance Improvement at Eisenhower Health, said in a prepared statement. “To be recognized five years in a row by an organization with the most rigorous industry standards for quality and safety, transparency and continuous improvement in health care systems is a testament to the dedication and commitment to excellence of our physicians, nurses, leadership and staff.”
Developed under the guidance of a National Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign the grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. The Hospital Safety Grade’s methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent, and the results are free to the public.
