Former Imperial County Democrat Central Committee Chair Endorses Jeff Gonzalez
INDIO — Former Imperial County Democrat Central Committee Chair Tony Gallegos, who also served eight years as a board member of the Imperial Irrigation District, has officially endorsed Jeff Gonzalez for Assembly.
“Jeff Gonzalez is a combat veteran with the leadership experience we need in the State Assembly,” said Gallegos. “Jeff is the type of guy who will sit down, put politics aside, and work together to solve problems. We need more of that. Bipartisan leaders like him who are willing to work across the aisle for a better Imperial County.”
Republican Gonzalez and Democrat Jose “Joey” Acuña Jr. face each other in the general election to replace long-time Democratic Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia.
“People are starting to understand that I care about people first,”” Gonzalez told Uken Report. “People over party.”
The two candidates are facing off to represent District 36, which includes Coachella, Indio, the rest of the eastern Coachella Valley and eastern Riverside County to the state line, along with all of Imperial County and a sliver of eastern San Bernardino County. Both candidates reside in the Coachella Valley.
“This is not your stereotypical partisan race and campaign,” said Jeff Gonzalez. “Our mission of building a more affordable, safer, and brighter future for California transcends party lines. I am grateful that Tony Gallegos shares our vision and has announced his support for our campaign.”
Following a first-place finish in the 2024 presidential primary, the momentum behind Jeff’s campaign continues to grow as he secures a major bipartisan endorsement from Tony Gallegos. For more information about Jeff and the campaign, please visit www.gonzalez4assembly.com.
