Coalition Launches Effort to Draft Chad Bianco for Governor in 2026

RIVERSIDE — Law enforcement leaders, legislators, local elected officials, and community leaders from across California have formed and launched a coalition to draft Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco to run for Governor of California in 2026.

Former State Senator Dennis Hollingsworth, Chairman of the Draft Bianco coalition, announced the effort, stating; “We need a strong, capable candidate to run for Governor in 2026 and present a real alternative for California voters. Sheriff Bianco has served Riverside County with the utmost integrity and has always kept our communities safe. In the face of Sacramento’s failures on issues like crime and homelessness, Sheriff Bianco’s leadership has been an example for other communities to follow across the state.”

Hollingsworth continued, “Our coalition represents every corner of this state and is committed to laying the groundwork for Sheriff Bianco to run for Governor and win. We look forward to continuing to grow this effort to demonstrate the widespread support that Sheriff Bianco will receive should he decide to jump into this race.”

The Draft Bianco coalition is being headed by the Republican Party of Riverside County and includes numerous currently serving elected officials, including Sheriffs, members of Congress, and members of the State Legislature.

Chad Bianco began his career in law enforcement in 1993, graduating from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Academy and eventually joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Working his way up the ranks, Bianco was elected Sheriff in 2018 and reelected in 2022. Bianco is a devoted husband and father.

California voters will elect a new Governor in 2026, when incumbent Gavin Newsom is term-limited and prohibited from seeking reelection.
