There is some good news for Riverside County motorists — just in time for Thanksgiving travel.

Average retail gasoline prices in Riverside have fallen 3.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.18 per gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 481 gas outlets in Riverside. This compares with the national average that has fallen 2.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.54 per gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Including the change in gas prices in Riverside during the past week, prices on Sunday were 47 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 19.8 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 8.9 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 40.4 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.

 

According to GasBuddy historical data, gasoline prices on November 20 in Riverside have ranged widely over the last five years:

  • $2.71 per gallon in 2016
  • $2.76 per gallon in 2015
  • $3.09 per gallon in 2014
  • $3.52 per gallon in 2013
  • $3.77 per gallon in 2012.

 

So, how does Riverside County stack up with neighboring counties? Areas near Riverside and their current gas price climate are:

  • San Bernardino- $3.16 per gallon, down 4.2 cents per gallon from last week’s $3.20 per gallon.
  • Orange County- $3.21 per gallon, down 4.8 cents per gallon from last week’s $3.26 per gallon.
  • Los Angeles- $3.25 per gallon,, down 4.1 cents per gallon from last week’s $3.29 per gallon.
