COACHELLA – Facial masks and hand sanitizer are two of essential tools to help fight COVID-19, which led this city on Friday to recognize La Botica Healthmart Pharmacy for its “extraordinary” and “generous” efforts fighting the spread of COVID-19.

The local pharmacy is currently offering essential employees free masks and hand sanitizer at several locations throughout the city.

“In times of trouble, we all need to come together to help one another,” Coachella Mayor Steven Hernandez said. “We commend La Botica Healthmart for demonstrating the spirit of Coachella and going above and beyond to give back to our community.”

The eastern Coachella Valley remains a hotspot for coronavirus, with more than 350 confirmed cases in Coachella. The city also has an emergency order in place requiring the use of face masks in public to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
