MSWD Forms CLEAR Community Advisory Committee to Address Future Needs

DESERT HOT SPRINGS — Mission Springs Water District is forming the CLEAR Committee (Community Listening, Engagement, and Advisory on Rates), according to a news release. This initiative underscores MSWD’s dedication to fostering community engagement, ensuring transparency, and upholding its commitment to serving Desert Hot Springs and the surrounding areas.

“MSWD has a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality services, supported by strong management, low rates, and a dedication to exceptional service. The district is facing new challenges, including regulatory pressures, unprecedented inflation, and aging infrastructure, General Manager Brian Macy said in the release. “Despite these issues, MSWD remains in a strong financial position with robust reserves and low debt; however, we must plan for the future to ensure the continued supply and safety of our community’s precious water resources.”

The CLEAR Committee will consist of community volunteers who will work alongside MSWD staff and the Board of Directors. As an advisory group, they will provide valuable input on key initiatives such as the district’s long range financial plan, its outreach methods, and customer engagement strategies. Together, this collaboration will help guide the district in maintaining its legacy of excellence while meeting the evolving needs of the community.

Meetings will be held in the MSWD boardroom on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, July 8
  • Tuesday, July 15
  • Tuesday, July 22
  • Tuesday, July 29

Individuals interested in participating in the CLEAR Committee are encouraged to apply. The application period will close on Wednesday, July 2.
