East Valley Republican Women Patriots on fire ahead of midterms

PALM DESERT — With more than 1,600 members, East Valley Republican Women Patriots are on offense as they gin up the local base with firebrand names and a movie that is sure to rally the loyal.

East Valley Republican Women Patriots, reportedly the largest group of its kind in the nation, on Friday, Sept. 16, will show the movie, “My Son Hunter, at the group’s new location, 73995 El Paseo.

President Joy Miedecke could not immediately be reached for comment.

“My Son Hunter” is a film directed by Robert Davi and starring Laurence Fox, Gina Carano and John James. It is a fictional retelling of the lifestyle and scandals of Hunter Biden, son of US President Joe Biden, according to IMBd, a popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content.

In 2021, Donald Trump accused Hunter Biden of corruption. It is, according to The Guardian’s Catherine Shoard, the “debut fiction attempt” of documentarians Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer. Spectator Australia called the movie a “socially dangerous, ego-damaging, and down-right delicious exposé of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.”  The film is being distributed by American media company Breitbart News and was released on Sept. 7.

Cost of the movie is $10 and includes popcorn and a drink.

Earlier this month, the Women Patriots hosted Congressman Matt Gaetz, R-Fla.

On Oct. 3, the East Valley Republican Women Patriots will host Dr. Alveda King, the niece of slain civil right leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. She is one of the nation’s most outspoken pro-life figures.

On Wednesday, Sept. 21, the group will hold a prayer meeting at 9 a.m. at their headquarters featuring the Rev. Brian Hawkins.
