Treatment Court Graduation Ceremony Recognizes Veterans for Perseverance, Accountability, and Commitment to Rebuilding Their Lives

RIVERSIDE – The Superior Court of California, County of Riverside, will recognize the accomplishments of local veterans during its 13th Veterans Treatment Court Graduation Ceremony on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 3:30 p.m., in Department 1 of the Riverside Historic Courthouse, located at 4050 Main Street in Riverside.

“Graduation represents more than the successful completion of a court program. It reflects the perseverance, commitment, and determination of veterans who have worked to overcome significant challenges,” said Hon. Jacqueline C. Jackson, Presiding Judge of the Riverside Superior Court. “We are proud to recognize their accomplishments and grateful to the justice partners, treatment professionals, and community organizations whose continued support makes these opportunities possible.”

The ceremony celebrates veterans who have successfully completed the Veterans Court program, recognizing their commitment to rehabilitation, personal growth, and successful reintegration into the community.

The Riverside County Veterans Treatment Court provides a specialized, treatment-focused approach to addressing the unique challenges that some veterans experience following military service. The program supports justice-involved veterans experiencing conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), military sexual trauma (MST), and substance use disorders.

Through judicial supervision, treatment services, accountability, and collaboration with community partners, Veterans Treatment Court works to address underlying factors contributing to criminal behavior while maintaining public safety and protecting victims’ rights.

Hon. Scott Williams, a military veteran who presides over Riverside County Veterans Treatment Court, brings a personal understanding of the commitment and sacrifices associated with military service.

“As a veteran, I understand the importance of having a community that stands behind those who have served,” said Judge Williams. “The veterans we recognize at this ceremony have demonstrated the courage to confront challenges, take responsibility, and make meaningful changes in their lives. Their graduation is a reminder that with accountability, support, and determination, second chances can lead to lasting success.”

The ceremony will bring together judicial officers, community leaders, justice partners, veterans, and their families to celebrate the graduates’ achievements.

The graduation ceremony is expected to last approximately one hour, with light refreshments to follow.
