For the second time in less than a week, a new business is opening at The River in Rancho Mirage.

On New Year’s Eve, The River will ring in 2018 with a new establishment, DRINGK Eatery + Bar. The new business will be the centerpiece of The River’s New Year’s Eve celebration.

Earlier this week, Jadabug’s Kids Boutique, a vibrant shop for babies and toddlers, announced it is expanding to The River in Rancho Mirage, and will have its grand opening on Dec. 16, featuring Santa Claus, princesses, superheroes and boxer Timothy Bradley.

The new Jadabug’s is located next door to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, between the Century Theatres at the River and the Cheesecake Factory.

At the heart of DRINGK’s menu will be $5 beer, liquor, wine and cocktails all day plus $5, $10 and $15 eats. DRINGK will also offer a diverse wine list as well as providing premium drinks in addition to the $5 offerings.

“We want to introduce a concept that speaks to the market and offers great value and fun in a contemporary atmosphere,” said Kurt Gardner, owner of DRINGK. “It will be a California-style, value-driven bar.”

As a way to appeal to the entire family, DRINGK will offer games throughout the restaurant, including a pool table, foosball, darts and board games. DRINGK will offer a kid’s menu and be family-friendly until 9 p.m.

The name, which is pronounced “drink,” is a name that speaks to the concept’s vision, and is versatile to use in many connotations such as, “join us for a DRINGK,” “have a DRINGK on us,” Gardner said. “It resonates and speaks to us as to what we want to do which is to provide fun and value in a casual and hip atmosphere.”

DRINGK is located at the north side of The River adjacent to the shaded parking, which is currently occupied by Fox & Fiddle.
