Saldivar to launch campaign at Mary Pickford Theater

CATHEDRAL CITY — Rick Saldivar on Saturday, June 11 will officially launch his campaign for a seat on the City Council to represent District 4. He is running on the theme, “Man of the people and for the people.”

He will launch his campaign at 9 a.m. at the Mary Pickford Theater, 36850 Pickfair St.

In preparation for the launch, Saldivar said, “Over the last several years I have been serving the Cathedral City community from a pastoral and resident level, this year I plan to serve you from a local government space, so I’m running for City Council.”

Saldivar works as an associate outreach pastor for Destiny Church, helping feed the homeless and hungry and serving as a lifeline for troubled souls who need someone to listen to them. You may learn more about him by clicking here.

Saldivar is seeking the seat that Mayor Ernesto Gutierez currently holds. Gutierrez has told Uken Report that he plans to seek re-election.

District 4 includes Desert Princess Country Club, Outpost and the Dream Homes.

This will be the second run Saldivar has made for the seat. He was one of four people vying for the seat in 2018. Gutierrez emerged victorious.

The election will be held on Nov. 8.
