PALM SPRINGS – Harold Matzner, one of the Coachella Valley’s most distinguished philanthropists, has stepped forward to help —again. Matzner’s Spencer’s Restaurant has stepped forward as a generous partner of Make March Matter.

The annual campaign supports Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), which is the No. 1 ranked children’s hospital on the West Coast, dedicated to offering more than 350 specialty programs and services to help the health of children. Each year the goal is to raise $1 million in the month of March.

This marks the third year Children’s Hospital Los Angeles has partnered with the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center (BSCC) in Rancho Mirage.

Since its inception in 2016, the Make March Matter campaign has raised more than $5 million total and more than $400,000 in the Coachella Valley. The funds raised in the Coachella Valley specifically go to support the work of seeing and treating patients at Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center.

For its part, Spencer’s Restaurant, nestled at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, will donate 100 percent of proceeds all day long on Thursday March 28 to Make March Matter. Spencer’s serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

For Matzner, the choice to become a partner with Make March Matter was a no-brainer.
