Riverside County Fourth District Supervisor V. Manuel “Manny” Perez has received the unanimous support of the Palm Springs City Council in his election to the seat. Palm Springs Mayor Robert Moon, and Councilmembers Christy Gilbert Holstege, Geoff Kors, Lisa Middleton, and J.R. Roberts announced their endorsements and were joined by former Mayor Ron Oden, and former Councilmembers Ginny Foat, Rich Hutchinson, and Paul Lewin who are also endorsing Perez.

In announcing his support, Mayor Robert Moon released the following statement:  “Manuel Perez has the energy and new ideas needed to move Riverside County forward. He’s working to find long-term solutions to the problems we face, and we can count on him to deliver our fair share of resources to the Coachella Valley. I am excited to join with my colleagues on the City Council in announcing my endorsement of this important campaign.”

Perez is being challenged by Jan Harnik, a member of the Palm Desert City Council.

Democrats are wasting no time in getting voters behind Joy Silver for the 28th state Senate District seat now held by Republican Jeff Stone. On Saturdays throughout the month of March volunteers will be working the phones on Silver’s behalf to switch the red seat to blue.
