For the fifth year the Palm Springs Public Library will present the Palm Springs Public Library Comic Con®.

The event is officially sanctioned and used with permission from the San Diego Comic Con®. So mark your calendars for Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The entire library will be taken over with this ever. It is free and open to all ages.

Attendees are encouraged come dressed in your best comic-inspired costume for the cosplay costume contest. There will be six winners selected from each of these categories: one preschool, one K-2nd grade, one 3rd – 5th grade, one middle school, one high school, and one adult (19+) selected for a prize.

Those wanting to participate in the Comic Con® costume contest need to register for the contest as you enter the Library. The Youth (preK-5th grade) costumes will be judged from 12:30-1:30 p.m. (You must be present to win). The Teen (middle and high school) and Adult costumes will be judged from 2 to 3 p.m. (Youo must be present to win). Winners will be announced at the end of each judging hour.

For this year’s Palm Springs Public Library Comic Con® the library is adding more games, drawing workshops and a new special effects makeup workshop and demonstration which will be at 10:30-11:30 a.m. Plus there will still be an artist alley, crafts, exhibitors as well as swag stations and special guest appearances from the 501st Legion and others.

The Library is once again partnering with Palm Springs Comic Con and Interstellar Comic Books & Collectibles who will be bringing in local artists for an ‘Artist Alley’ and other activities.

Leenie’s Weenies Food Truck will be just outside the Library all day during Comic Con®; so they’ll be no reason to leave all the fun. This event is partially sponsored by the Friends of the Palm Springs Library.
