Desert Sands Educational Foundation, in partnership with KESQ, is very excited to announce a special to appear on the station this Saturday, August 29, at 6:30 pm. Titled Building the Foundation, the 30- minute special is a student-produced look at the work of the foundation as they raise supplemental funds for items not always covered in classroom budgets.

Desert Sands Educational Foundation on KESQThe foundation’s work has primarily benefitted the arts and technology – STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math). Looking back at such signature events as CAMFest, the awarding of mini-grants, and the gala, the broadcast features messages from all cities served by the district as well as community partners and students.

Filmed at the Aztec studio at Palm Desert High School, the production features the work of students as they, themselves, recall the funding their FILM program received from the foundation.

An added twist to the event is “dinner and a show” as local restaurants (listed below) are donating 10% of their proceeds on Saturday from 4:00 to close. Support of the restaurants is encouraged and appreciated. These restaurants are part of a cadre of local dining establishments who contribute to the foundation in a variety of ways.
