PALM DESERT – Inspired to empower youth in the Coachella Valley, the Junior League of Palm Springs Desert Communities has made a donation of $5,000 to the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert.

This year’s donation to the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert will provide sponsorship for the upcoming exhibit, “Jim Henson’s Splash and Bubbles: Dive In, Lend a Fin!” The new educational exhibit will be a family-learning experience focused on marine biology, ocean science and different ecosystems.  Visitors of all ages will learn how even small actions can create a ripple effect in the environment.

The new exhibit is based on the popular PBS KIDS TV show, “Splash and Bubbles,” a hit animated series that encourages children to explore ocean science and marine biology through character-driven comedy, according to InPark Magazine.

“While (Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert) serves over 65,000 children and their families each year, we know that there are so many more families who would benefit from our programs by enriching the lives of themselves and their children.  This gift from Junior League of Palm Springs Desert Communities will move us closer to meeting that unmet need.” Carol Scott, CEO, Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert, said in a prepared statement.

As a pathway to success, the donation by the Junior League of Palm Springs Desert Communities is part of a larger commitment to support youth programs in the Coachella Valley.
