‘This is such a great event for the women of our Valley to learn and understand more about LGBTQ’ — Pastor Gerald Sharon

PALM DESERT — Two guest speakers will headline the Women of Hope Fall Gathering on Nov. 13 when they will address “LGBTQ Awareness — From Head to Heart.”

This is a free event open to all women in Coachella Valley interested in experiencing a safe space to learn about the LGBTQ community. The event is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and includes lunch. It will be held at Hope Palm Desert, 45900 Portola Ave.

“This event is to create awareness and a better understanding of the LGBTQ community,” Gesa Sharon, who is organizing the event, told Uken Report. “The speakers will share personal experiences and information that can help us learn to more compassionately engage all people in our lives regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.  And, as Jesus followers, to love everyone more freely.”
