Consistent Critic of Rancho Mirage Politics Files FPPC Complaint Against Ted Weill

FPPC Complaint Filed Against Ted Weill

Ted Weill

RANCHO MIRAGE — Michael Harrington, a constant critic of local politics and politicians here, has lodged a complaint with the FPPC against Councilor Ted Weill.

The complainant alleges Weill has violated the Political Reform Act’s campaign disclosure provisions. The complaint was filed against Weill on July 22.

At this time, the FPPC has not made any determination about the allegation(s) made in the complaint. Within 14 calendar days from the date the complaint was received, the complainant will be notified of the FPPC’s intent to:

  • investigate the allegations of the complaint;
  • refer the complaint to another governmental agency;
  • take no action on the complaint because, on the basis of the information provided, the Commission does not appear to have jurisdiction to investigate; or
  • take no action on the complaint because the allegations of the complaint do not warrant the Commission’s further action.

The underlying matter concerns campaign reporting and disclosure., according to Harrington. The FPPC’s opening of an investigation is not a finding that a violation occurred.

Harrington ran for a seat on the City Council in 2018 and lost.
